POETRY AT THE CHAPEL

Meets the fourth Sunday of each month at 11:30 a.m. This is not a religious group. The church has graciously offered us a place to share our poetry or the poetry of others in a non-critical, fun and relaxing atmosphere. “We meet to hone our writing skills, offer support, and discuss writing and publishing in today’s world. As an author, editor, and writing coach, I lead discussions on the craft of writing. Each month we highlight a different problem, and members may bring a section of their manuscripts pertaining to that problem for suggestions and a deeper understanding of industry standards.”

“Meetings begin with a short presentation on a writing-related topic, followed by a ‘Suggestion Session’ (read and critique) for the first five writers who sign in that night, followed by socializing.” PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PRESENTATION ON TUESDAY, FEB. 10 WILL BE “CREATING QUIRKY CHARACTERS.”
