There’s something about being with a bunch of friends, united by our love of writing, even if we can’t be together in the same room. Our October meeting, the last of the year, was bittersweet, because we were unable to meet in person again, and it appears that’ll be the case for months to come.
Still, it was a great meeting. Based on member suggestions, we introduced our first annual Prose Readaround. Similar to our very successful Great Poetry Shootout, our annual poetry appreciation event, this meeting allowed writers of prose, both published and unpublished, to read and discuss their works. Ten authors shared their short stories or essays, often with a brief explanation of what motivated them to write the piece, and what it meant to them.
JoLynne Buehring served as moderator and contributor.
The meeting was conducted on Zoom and saved to YouTube. Following matters of business, the prose program begins at the 21-minute mark.
